A preview appears before you accept. The image comes from the visitor’s phone, when they start the contact.

Being reachable for visitors should not mean 24/7 surveillance
The front door is the last part of the home that never got connected. The lights, the heating and the chime inside the house all did. The door itself still does one thing: it makes a sound in a room you may not be in.
The products built for this so far took one route. A camera on the wall, pointed at the street. That tells you what happened at your door. It allows you to respond but might be slow and it records everyone who walks by.
DoorLink takes the other route. No camera in the device, and only video when contact is necessary. It facilitates communication between the resident and visitor via their own phones. The resident decides whether to answer and how. The visitor installs nothing.

Your own bell stays as it is. DoorLink works alongside it and is not connected to it.
Record only when contact is necessary
There is no camera and no microphone in the device. It cannot see or hear anything at your door, and it records nothing. When you see who is standing there, that image comes from the visitor’s own phone, once they initiate contact.
